About Yoga
Yoga is an ancient system of self help that brings health and wellness to all levels of our being. It began in India thousands of years ago and is still practiced there today and all over the world. The Sanskrit word Yoga means ‘to unite’, yoga unites the mind, body and spirit through the breath (pranayama), postures (asana), meditation & relaxation (Sarvasana).

General Yoga

The approach of this class is based on Hatha Yoga whereby students go on a journey of self discovery through expression of movement using flows and postures, breath awareness techniques (pranayama) and then bringing them home to their true self in a guided relaxation (sarvasana) embodying the peace and the calm of yoga. If you would like to join this class please download the general yoga registration form and bring with you when you start. This course requires a deposit to confirm your place.

Pregnancy Yoga
These classes are suitable from 12 weeks to term to enhance your pregnancy and prepare you for birth, both in body and mind in a warm and nurturing space. Using gentle stretches, postures, swiss balls and pelvic floor exercises, to energise and relax, build strength, flexibility and confidence. Also breath awareness techniques for labour, relaxation and calm. Yoga helps to reduce common complaints during pregnancy like restless legs, anxiety and sleeplessness. Don't worry if you have never practised Yoga before its a great time to start this class is usually Mum's first experience of Yoga. It's never too late to start even if you only have a few weeks to go the relaxation, preparation through movements and breath are really beneficial. Mum & Baby Yoga
These classes help you to cope with this time of great change and to increase your babies development through loving touch, sound practices, singing, play, and lots of fun! The babies range between six weeks and 8 months old.

Each class involves: Yoga with our babies which helps to ease common ailments like colic, constipation, soothe upset babies and improve relaxation and sleep.
Yoga for yourself, using movement to express yourself, improving confidence, strength, posture and flexibility. Yoga together enhancing the bond between you both, singing rhymes, delighting in each other’s movements, and then relaxing together in a comfortable and restful Sarvasana.The classes are very social space where Mums and babies enjoy the company of each other too. Postnatal Yoga
These classes are aimed at Mum’s only from around 6 weeks onwards to help with a safe recovery, improving energy, sleep, confidence and reclaiming their body space back! Strengthening the core muscles of the stomach, back and pelvic floor and giving you time for nurturing and stillness, rest and recharge. There’s always a sense of escapism and excitement in this class! If you would like to join this class please download the postnatal yoga registration form and bring it with you when you start.

Getting ready for birth with Yoga
This is held monthly as a one off class to prepare you and your partner for labour and birth using a yogic approach through breath awareness, relaxations, visualizations, yoga stretches and movements, massage techniques and rehearsing birthing positions. This class helps to empower not just the Mother but the partner too by giving them the practical tools to be involved becoming a strong focused unit together. It is suitable from 32 weeks onwards.
